Half Marathon
The marathon and half marathon will start at the corner of State and Wyman in downtown Rockford. The route will proceed north on Wyman to Park Av where it will jog over to Main St and proceed north on Main St. The race will continue north on Main St to Bauer Parkway where the course will turn east and then turn north entering the park path. The runners will then loop around the old quarry and exit going east on Bauer Parkway. After crossing the river they will turn south on Victory Ln and then east on Shoreland where they will go east to Second St (IL Rt 251). The runners will turn south on Second St and run down to Glendale where they will turn west. They will proceed to East where they will go south and head east on Pearl, then go south on Arlington. Then curve around to Illinois St where they will go south and enter the paved bike path where they will continue until the path exits on Madison St. At Madison, they will continue South until Chestnut. At Chestnut (Walnut) the half marathon participants will turn right to complete their race at the finish line at the west end of the Chestnut St Bridge.

Full Marathon
At approximately the 12.6 mile mark, the marathon runners will turn left on to La Fayette St and proceed one block to First St where they will turn right. These two blocks are uphill to climb to the Jefferson St. bridge. At Jefferson the runners will turn right, cross over Madison and the Rock River just north of downtown Rockford and then continue west to Court St where they will turn north. At John St the runners will turn west for two blocks for a moderate uphill climb to North Av. At that point the runners will once again turn north and proceed up North Av running downhill to Auburn St. Crossing Auburn the race course continues north on Huffman Blvd, traveling northbound through Rockfords neighborhood communities, turns east on Belmont, north on Louise, west on Kay, south on Latham, west on River Bluff to Huffman where the runners will head south to Halsted. Once on Halsted, the runners will continue west to Kilbourn Av (IL Rt 70) where the course turns south for roughly .5 miles to Safford Rd where the course again heads west. This is the 20 mile mark.

Our runners will continue west on Safford road until reaching the west entrance of Searle Park. Entering the park the runners will loop around some of the park roads and eventually turn onto the Mel Anderson Bike Path. The paved bike path will start the runners on their way back toward the finish line along a creek that will take them back to Kilbourn Av less than two miles from the finish line. Once on Kilbourn, the runners will head south to Jefferson where they will go eastbound on Jefferson, once again crossing the Rock River and returning to Madison St via First St and Market St. The final leg of the race brings our runners up Madison St to Chestnut where they will turn west to the finish line on the Chestnut St bridge.
